Shoulders of Giants
GSA Winter Exhibition in the Billiard Room, Glasgow Art Club
25st November 2023 – 13th January 2024

The phrase "standing on the shoulders of giants" is a metaphor which means “using the understanding gained by those who have gone before in order to make intellectual progress”. On this line of thought, the Glasgow School of Art Fine Art graduates who are bringing this show to life are also using this precious time and beautifully historic space at the Glasgow Art Club to perhaps reflect on the artistic giants they have encountered and will encounter on their individual paths to creative success. This group are now peeling away the layers to reveal their artistry, refine their styles and strengthen their growing practices. The work showcased in this unique exhibition will speak to a range of media, techniques and subject matter that are personally intwined with each individual artist involved. We warmly invite you to bask in the elegant beauty of these walls, and to open your hearts and minds to the creative interpretations of the cohort who are now gracing the scene of Glasgow’s art world.

Open to view Tuesday to Friday through to either Friday 12th or Saturday 13th January.
